The Cottage ‐ room by room
Riverside cottage is newly renovated throughout though retains much of its original character and charm. What follows is a description of the cottage with some pictures so you can see what's in store. For those with a need to stay connected then there is free WiFi.
Entrance Porch
Somewhere to hang your coats and put your boots.
Kitchen Diner
Contemporary, sunny kitchen with a high ceiling. Well equipped, light and airy with a dining table and patio doors to a veranda.

Sitting Room
Character sitting room, red sandstone inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove (initial supply of firewood), and patio door to veranda.

Double Bedroom
Cosy first-floor bedroom with views overlooking the garden, river and woods. The room retains many of its original features including a Sandstone fireplace though this is not currently in use.
Bathroom
On the first-floor is the bathroom which has a Double ended bath, rain head shower. The room has a high ceiling with a velux window so it’s a great place to relax and gaze at the stars!
Top Floor
The top floor has a sunny attic twin bedroom with exposed beams. A lovely light and airy room with 2 velux windows. The 2 single beds are under the slop of the roof – mind your head!
Outside
There is a Veranda along the back of the house accessed via patio doors from both the kitchen and the sitting room. A well positioned table and chairs offers a great vantage point for an enjoyable alfresco meal or refreshing glass of wine.
A lovely terraced garden leads down to the river where you could enjoy a BBQ on those hot summer days, maybe partake in a little sunbathing as well! The garden also offers views over to Skiddaw.
*PLEASE NOTE there are steps of different levels and an unfenced drop to the river. All young children should be supervised – take care!
